If you think smartphones with dual or triple SIM card slots are cool, how about a smartphone with a dual OS? We had an inkling that China based Yuhua Teltech was working on a dual OS powered smartphone named the X2, but it’s not a rumor anymore! The Yuhua X2 is now official.  As expected, the X2 offers dual OS boot with Linux 2.6 and Google Android.  The X2’s hardware specs, however, aren’t very inviting.

Key Device Specs:
Model:  Yuhua X2
OS: Linux 2.6, Android Application
Display: 3-inch WQVGA display with 260K colors (240 x 400 pixels)
RAM: 128MB
ROM: 256MB
External memory: MicroSD memory card (up to 8GB)
Camera: 5.0M pixel color camera with auto focus
Connectivity: Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g
Battery: 1200+mAh (up to 4.5 hours of talk time)
D-TV: CMMB for China, DVB-T for EU
GPS: GPS navigation capability with Google Maps.

Things which aren’t very cool in the X2 are: a mere 128MB of RAM for handling OS like Android and Linux, and the display resolution of just 240×400 is certainly not a deal making factor.

Cool Factor

The dual OS boot capability, accelerometer sensor, D-TV, 5MP camera and GPS navigation capability.
